Hello there,

Let me start off by saying that I have done a fair bit of searching and have consulted the tech library on this subject.

I have a 3.0L 1995 extended cab ranger with a 7.5" rear end. I want to swap in a 8.8" L/S rear end with 4.10 gears from a 1999 4-door ranger. Am I correct in thinking that the ONLY thing I need to purchase is wider U-bolts and the plate to attach them to the leaf springs? As in, I won't have to do any welding/ fabrication anywhere else?

Thanks,

Steve

99s have the speedometer run off of the axle tone ring, so you'll need to use your abs sensor in the new axle. You wont need to change the ubolts since the axle tubes on ranger 8.8s are no different than the 7.5

So I use my current ABS sensor in the new axle? Are there any write ups on how to go about that?

Undo the 10mm bolt that holds it on and twist it out. Install in new housing.

I think the speed sensors are the same (the one that was in my '99 Explorer 8.8" worked fine with my '90 BII's RABS anyway).
