so i am almost done with the sas on my 1999 ranger and i just head that when you take off the abs sensor from the rear diff of the stock 8.8, the speedometer either does not work or does not work right.

has anyone head of this who could tell me more, or could someone please help point me in the direction of the answer?

thanks a bunch to whoever can!

the VSS should be in the transmission, so the ABS sensor shouldn't affect the speedometer

You're right bozone. the '99 uses the rear diff. speed sensor for the speedo. Your speedo will not work without the sensor in place.
