1999 Ford Ranger 5 clutch problem

I researched problem further. Drained tranny and put new fluid in. Did not help. I figured out that the clutch is still turning and that's why I can't shift coming from a stop. If I wait about 5-6 seconds I can shift from stand still. I don't think it's the clutch cause it's not slipping. Rpm doesn't show it when I shift into 5th at about 25mph.

As you have surmised the clutch is not fully disengaging.

This is a clutch master/slave issue.
You are not getting full travel in the slave, this could be a bad slave, air in the hydraulic system or bad master.

When you are at a stop and in 1st gear when do you feel the clutch start to engage when clutch pedal is raised, should be about 1/2 way up, if lower then slave is not pushing clutch in enough

Ok tested position clutch engages. About 3/4 . Deffinitly no slippage. Is this something I got to live with. Also is there a way to check wear on clutch?

If you mean clutch engages at 1/4 up or 3/4 down that is too low.
Your clutch is not fully disengaged when pedal is on the floor, which you already know because you can not shift it into gear easily.

Slipping would show up if clutch pedal was all the way up and you could barely move, there would also be a smell of the friction plate at that time.
This would be the opposite of what you are experiencing, if your friction plate was worn down then it would be easier to shift when stopped, since friction plate is not gripping flywheel(engine) very well.

Your issue is in the clutch master/slave hydraulic system, could be pressure plate but because of Rangers past clutch issues its not as likely.

From floor up it is about 3/4. So you think it may master. Is it really hard to change. It looks like it has to be done from the inside..

Unfortunately it's more likely that the slave is the problem.
