1999 5 speed fluid amount

1999 mazda b 2500 5 speed.how much mercon v do I need.

5 quarts will do it.

2.65 L or 2.8 quarts. I'd just buy a gallon, probably cheap as 3 qts anyway. It'll be nice to have the extra around. It can also be used for power steering fluid.

I was assuming that it was the same tranny as my 2000 Ranger. Am I wrong?

Whenever I do this I just pump It in till it leaks out the side. Is there a better way? Being a 5 speed I don't think it'll matter as much as an automatically if it was over filled.

That's what I do for my 5 speed too. Just fill til it starts to run out of the fill plug.

The overfill is there for a purpose. I wouldn't push it by overfilling.
