So my check engine light came on tonight for no reason that I can tell right now.... It feels like it lacks power but it revs and accelerates fine (could be running lean?).

Also it feels like it has good power some days and other days it feels like its just falling on its face (before the light).

All sensors are plugged in, none of the gauges are dead so it will hopefully be a non crucial sensor that won't be expensive (or it could be an O2 sensor... :P)

Anything I should check? and where can I find a good and not so expensive scanner?

you might have a slow responding 02 sensor thats what mine had sometime it would be on and others it wouldn't i got knew ones from ford engine in detriot for free cause i had a friend that worked there but they are like 70 bucks each new and a bitch to replace

and your local autopart store will normaly run a scan on your car for free btw

Need codes. But with no symptom, my money is on DPFE.

If you can't loan a scanner, Wal-Mart sells a cheapo online for about $40. I bought it, and it's so worth it to be able scan your junk whenever you want.

I could do so many things with that one. Don't have the time right now.

I bought my codekey reader at Costcos 1 year ago for $20( have not seen them anymore)

there are a lot of readers/scanners for less than $50. and as posted earlier we cant do anything without some actual code.....numbers.........

Ok well I took my truck to O'reillys and used the scanner but it kept shutting off and I took it to another store and the same thing happened. They said either my plug or something is messed up or the OBDII has been locked by the factory to prevent anything but a full scanner puling the codes. Anybody have this problem?

However after being pissed about that about 20 minutes of driving my light went off and stayed off. :D
