So i recently blew my 3.0 on my 99 ranger and want to put a 5.0 in it from an explorer of the same or close year. Im wondering if anybody has done this swap and got it to SMOG,and what i will exactly need to do it???. Do the mounts line right up?? Will my Wiring Harness have to be from a manuel explorer or does it not matter? and im also wondering if this is gonna be too much work so i should just drop a 4.0 in it. If anybody has done this your info is greatly appreciated..thanks

Long as its an 99 or newer you should be fine smog wise... just because the standards are the same or greater...

and you need a 99 or newer motor/computer too for the PATS system.
