1999 3.0 4x4

I run 89 as well.

What will the gearing do with my gas mileage

It won't kill it, it might get better cause your not working the engine as hard to pull the big tires. I put 33's on my daughters truck and regeared to 4:56 mileage got a little better! Bad news is you have to buy 2! But I think it will help:D

I ran a tank of e85 and all it did was kill my mileage, I never heard it ping though:) I usually run 89 in my mine I know the manual says to only run 87 but it runs better on better fuel so its worth the extra cash.

I disagree you're wasting pennies, the engine is designed to run on 87 anything else is wasting money! And even if it wasn't you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in 2 octane sitting in the seat.

Yeah well lucky enough im 17 and still get pretty generous birthday and christmas presents/money lol. I asked for some 33x12.50 BFG All Terrains and asking for 4.56's

I run E-85 in mine all the time and I only lost about 3mpg. Its peppier, and cheaper. Ive never had bogging problems with my 3.0 in 4WD and I have 4.10's as well. As for feeling a 2 octane difference, I used to own a 1995 Intrepid with the 3.5 that wanted 89octane, and I noticed a power AND mileage difference - a bad one - when using 87. If you can run ethanol, I'd recommend it based on the luck I have, but I don't know what ethanol is running in other parts of the country. Here in my neck of the woods (Hutchinson, Minnesota), its around 1.86 a gallon for ethanol and about 2.33 for gas. The loss in mileage breaks even with the price difference more or less and its cleaner, plus its approx. 105 octane from what Ive heard, if not higher.

Yeah i would have to go out of my way to buy ethanol.
