1998 Ranger 5R55E Overdrive Solenoid and 5th Gear Solenoid ?

my 98 5r55e has been going in LIMP mode for a while, OD Light flashing
I took it to a garage and they hooked it up to the computer and called this morning with the symptoms -

Overdrive and 5th gear solenoids bad
So where are these 2 solenoids located and procedure for changing them ?

i may just change the valve body. been browsing ebay and the valve body comes with the 6 solenoids.
can the valve body be changed without pulling tranny ?
anything to notice that may fall out - i remember the old model trannys had small balls that set in grooves that my father in law tinkered with.
