Bought another Ranger with a locked up engine, it's a 98 4X4 with a 3.0. I have a good 3.0 in a 97 Ranger. My question is: what will I need to change in order to swap the 97 engine into the 98. Thanks

Intake and exhaust manifolds should be the only major difference. Use the 98 manifolds, throttle body, intake tube and MAF.

Look closely at the harness connectors too.

Possibly have to swap the 98's harness onto the 97 engine.

Easier to swap that with the engine out.

Thanks Guys, hopefully I'll be getting back on the project in a few more days! Shouldn't take long once I can devote more time to the swap.
