Hey ya'll

I am trying to hook up my iPOD to my stock stereo in my 1998 ford ranger XLT. I do have an amp wired into it for a bass speaker in the back. I pulled out my radio and looked behind it and I don't see anywhere to plug in an RCA cord (as you can probably tell, I'm not that tech savvy when it comes to this!) I do see two holes however where it looks like a square type plug could go in. One is already occupied by my amp. Can someone give me an idea of how to do this without costing a fortune? I don't mind "rigging" it! :)

Thanks!

50 bucks at a stereo shop should do the trick just let them know what you want and they will hook you up, but I'm not sure if you can hook an ipod up to the stock head unit I believe pioneer and kenwood are the more popular ipod ready head units

ya and for the 50 bucks you might as well spend atleast 100 and get a good head unit then you can control your amps pre-outputs, gains, treble, all that good stuff. usually the newer head units come with a standard sized head phone jack (in the front) where you can get a dual male headphone wire that will connect your ipod up.

Get a cheap Sony, JVC or the like at Walmart or online. Most all new units have an ipod adaptor built in. I bought 2 JVC's on sale for 1/2 price 120.00 (both) at a local electronics dealer and they have remote and audio out + ipod. You can get an adaptor but they cost too much.

I bought a panasonic head unit with an aux input and USB port on the front of it for $150 from a local shop. It also has a 7 ban eq, I love it!
