I want to replace my headlight assemblies since the originals are all fogged over and I' m tired of polishing them. So I bought new assemblies and tried to install them but could not get the old ones out. With the retaining clips removed they're still stuck by one bolt which I do not believe has a metal retaining clip like the other 2 but snaps into place. I can't see. Does one have to remove the blinker light assembly too to gain access to the 3rd bolt? I guess what I 'm asking is, what is the procedure for removing the headlight lens assemblies?

You may have already figured this out, but in case not, or for others, Mazda headlight removal differs from Ranger. If you have to remove headlights to change bulbs, or whatever, best if you get a ring spreader tool to release the clips (top and bottom), then pull upwards to remove clips. Then pull headlight straight forward - don't be afraid to use some force - they can be a b..tch.

There is no clip on bottom bolt - it is just force fit - as noted above, just pull straight out with force.

I have been able to replace bulbs (07 B4000) without removing headlights by reaching in behind and turning bulb holder counter-clockwise. If you have stock air box, easiest if you remove it. Box just pulls straight up - again use some force (force fit into grommets at bottom).

Hope this helps.

Thanks SGB. I took a different but similar approach to removing the assemblies. Since I was replacing the assemblies due to fogged lenses I simply remove both spring clips as you mention then jammed a thin screw driver into the bottom plastic clip to break it. Assembly popped right out. No fuss whatsoever. Replacement job took about 15minutes for both headlamp assemblies.
