Was told the 2.5l 4cyl in my 98 ranger was a non interference engine. I asked because I inspected the timing belt (84,000 miles) and it looks decent. I asked someone who has worked on fords all his life and said its non interference so that if it broke, the truck would just stop running and damage wouldnt ensue. Any helpful info out there? Just doing prevenative maintenance.
