1997 XLT Blend Door Help?

Hello All.
Have not been here since my last 1997 was totaled more than a year ago.
Hope someone can help me out with this dreaded blender door.
I have done my 'homework' and found about this issue. Then went and bought the door from Rock Auto.
Just got through cutting out that triangle on the bottom of the plenum. When I reached up in there...trying to figure out how to take out the old door...it felt like nothing on that door was broken! Moved it around and the top of the door..the part up top that the actuator connects to....it was moving also as I moved the door back and forth. Then tested the actuator.....it moved like it was supposed to but slowly.
So....rather than cutting the plenum with my dremel and going any further, I decided to take a shot here.
If that door is moving OK, and the actuator seems to be moving Ok, why is hot air ALWAYS pouring into the cab?
Not sure where/what I need to check before continuing with the blend door repair.

Likely the motor isn't strong enough to move the door.

Check the vacuum lines to the heater control valve. My valve was bad, but it still didn't work after I replaced it. The vacuum connection beneath the valve was cracked. I figured all that out after I cut access to replace the door.

Edited to correct part that was broken.

There are a couple videos on this site which will show you exactly how it works and how these guys fixed the issue permanently.. For you, it's just going to be instructional.. My '96 was hot all the time unless it was in the off position. The top post of the door was broken which wouldn't allow the motor to position the door. I double checked to motor before I ordered the kit from these guys to ensure it wasn't the motor or the controls. I pulled the motor (video shows how) and rotated the temp adjust through the range... Anyway watch the videos and then let us know what you find.

Start a new thread and describe the problem. Someone will help. Old threads like this tend to be ignored.

For all those with blender door problems depending on the routing of the hoses, you could always do what I did to my 83 2.8 put a plumbing shut off valve on the inlet hose for heater core. Than just turn the heat off in the summer!
