What model years would have the same driver side door for a 1997 Ranger XLT?

1993 thru 2005, regular or extended cab both used same doors

I think the mirrors changed in 2006, the door would still fit but the mirrors had different mounting brackets and looked different, but can be worked around if needed

At some point the hole for the lock cylinder changed (if I had to guess for the '95 model year), it's been 2 years so I don't remember if it got smaller or bigger but keep that in mind, and the door panels changed a bit... I put a '94 door on my '97 and I used the newer style latch in the older door, just made do on the door lock cylinder and rekeyed one to work...

Also throw in the fact my '97 Ranger didn't have the factory door when I got it... it had a white I think '01 door (on a burgandy rig...) so I had to mix match some things to make it right enough... if it matters to you and care about finding a door the right colors I think they changed those in '95, my '94 door doesn't quite match the rest of the rig...

My '97 Ranger is white. I had to replace the damaged bed with a green one, and now I'll be heading back to the same junkyard (Pick and Pull) to check out the same green 2000 Ranger for a door. Wish me luck! Hopefully, when I'm finished everything will be Ford Oxford White again.

My buddy had a 98 Ranger, light blue. He got a door from a similarly colored Mazda B-series.

I'll be going door hunting in a few days. The door frame got pushed in around the lower right corner near the seat belt retractor. I'm trying to reshape/restore that area so I have enough clearance for the replacement door. Bodywork is not my strong suit.

There are other subtle changes in the way the interior panels/power windows/power locks attached.
Nothing that can't be worked around, but you're best to stay in the '96 - '00 range for a '97.
The bottom cab corner is pretty structural and when steel has been stretched by a collision, difficult to restore - too many layers. (bodywork isn't my strong suit either). I found it easier to replace the section than to straighten.

Yes, I'm seeing some of the additional reinforcement in that lower corner. What might be involved in replacing that section?
