right now im driving a 97 ranger 4 cyl 5 speed with a 4" lift 2 wheel drive. its a standard cab step side. my grandmas 85 crown vic has been sitting in her back yard for a year. it runs great and ive been thinking about doing the swap very soon. first im wanting to change the tbi to a carb, and for the time being i want to use her transmission, i believe its an aod. im only wanting to use the power steering and alternator, no a/c. i also have a pretty hefty aftermarket aluminum radiator in my ranger right now so i think it should be good enough for the v8? im wantin to use the tank/fuel pump thats in my ranger and just use a fuel pressure regulator. i read the v8 article and know i need the oil pump kit and exhaust manifolds from a 70's ford car. im just wondering what all i can use from the crown vic to make this as cheap as possible. i know ill have to beef up the rear end so im wondering if i can use the crown vics? im also planning on lowering the truck once i do the swap. im goin for an old 50's ford rat rod look. has anybody here used a crown vic for the swap? any help would be great. thanks.
