So, I have a 1996 3.0 Ranger which I replaced the fuel pump on about a year or so ago after the truck wouldn't start with a good battery. I discovered after replacing the fuel pump that one of my passengers had accidentally triggered the fuel pump shut-off switch, which fixed all my problems after I reset the switch. However, the fuel gauge hasn't been working properly since I replaced the fuel pump. The needle tends to stay right about at the 1/4 mark, which is where the fuel was when I replaced the pump. However, the weird part is that the fuel gauge actually seems to work once my fuel drops below the 1/4 mark. The needle drops appropriately and the fuel light comes on when fuel gets low enough, but the needle never goes above the 1/4 mark when I fill up. Any ideas?
