I've got a 95' Ranger for sale---I took a 4x4 short bed regular cab truck (absolutely no rust) and made a 2x4 out of it---223 (1963) in-line 6 (rebuilt) engine, and (rebuilt top load 3 spd trans----has PS, AC, PB and all other features of a 1995 Ranger, but no computerized anything. If interested, I'll forward a list of 32 items put new on the truck, and a detailed list of repairs performed. Located in East Tennessee---- Price--$3200---Can be seen on Knoxville, TN Craigslist, Cars and Trucks---Put "Rat Ranger" in search box for more details and contact information, thanks, Dennis.

Nice truck and interesting build. Did you happen to do a build thread on it anywhere?

I'd think about offering $3200 if it was still a 4x4 and had it's fuel injection system intact.

Since going backwards to carb makes it not street legal in most of the US your asking price seems high as is.

I went all old school because I wanted to----In my state, and many others in the South, you can run about anything you want to---otherwise, all hot rods and deleted diesel trucks (millions of them) would be off the road. If you saw my receipts and labor computed at 10 cents an hour, you wouldn't think I'm asking too much.

A 95 is pretty safe to do whatever you want in most states. I don't know of any place but CA and NY who would be that anal over a truck that pre-dates obd2. In my state anything made before 96' has no inspection whatsoever.

Cool build and good luck.

PA will throw a fit over it.

Wow... NJ is actually cooler than PA at something!

Yeah, but I still have to trailer my quad and SxS to PA if I want to ride them.

Actually in NY you can get away with it, since technically speaking, anything 95 and older is just a safety inspection. So if you were to install a cat. It would pass without anyone even knowing what they were looking at.

pretty cool truck. Answeres the question "Can I straight 6 fit in a Ranger?" notice the grill pushed out to fit the Radiator? Nice work

I didn't want to chop the firewall, and where the engine is sitting now, I was able to use the cross member that the radius arm brackets are mounted to as a place to put my rear (bell housing ear) mounts and use a saddle mount in the front. I was able to get it all in the space by moving the radiator forward 4"---the grille 2" ----the front bumper is lowered 2" and moved forward 2". It was a challenge to my 70 year old, retired Ford truckshop mecnanic's brain to figure out how to by pass the computer, and get all the gauges (including the electric speedometer and tachometer) to work as they should. I've got everything working, even the backup lights.

My financial advisor---AKA Mama---said I had too darn many projects and something need to go----we've got too many vehicles registered and insured now for her to be happy, and you know what they say about Mama being happy!
