1995 Ranger, Manual Trans Swap with 4L4D

I'm sorry thats a A4LD. My Grandfather would like for me to swap his 5 speed trans for an automatic. His Ranger is a 1995 2.3L, i have access to a 1992 ranger, with an auto. Is this a possible swap?

The last year for the A4LD was 1994. A 1995 2.3 would use a 4r44e trans. What engine does the 92 truck have, and is it 2wd or 4wd? And I'm assuming your grandfather's truck is 2wd correct?
