So the accelerator on my '95 ranger sits way back. I think the spring in it or something is worn out because I am able to pull the pedal about 3, maybe 4, inches forward with my hand.

Is this a common occurrence and is there a way to fix it?

Search "zip tie mod".

It's in the tech library too. It basically tightness up the cable for free.

Sent from the think n' stink.

That's too funny. I did that in my '94 about 10 years ago then replaced the cable last month and had to do the same thing again. I was sure there was a more 'professional' method that I wasn't understanding. Guess not :)

thanks it worked great but i cant find the kick down i only see one cable

I think the kickdown only runs from the TB to the trans, not to the pedal.

From what I saw (unless I did it wrong) it is one cable just one side is the throttle cable & the other is the kick down, as when I pulled the throttle up (away from the floor) one side of the cable became more visible.
