Does anyone have experiance with using a 5.0 from a mid 90's M-stang GT? I am considering installing one from a 1995 in a 1999 Ranger. Does anyone know how to use the stock gauges in the Ranger and make them work? Any ideas would be helpful.

Your Ranger uses an EEC-V system. The '94-'95 Mustangs used an EEC-IV system that was different than the '93-earlier Mustang EEC-IV. The '94-'95 was more of an EEC-4-1/2.

The '93-'95 Mark VIIIs (my donor was a '94) also used the same EEC-IV system as the '94-'95 Mustangs. I found that very few of my '98 Ranger guages would work with the Mark VIII's system. The senders that the PCM needed to see were of the wrong value or reversed from what the guages needed to see. I ended up grafting the Mark VIII guages into the Ranger's instrument cluster. Nobody notices the guages were changed even though it now has a 140mph speedo.

I don't know if this is exactly what you were looking for. I hope the information helps some. Good luck.

An Explorer swap would be your best bet to make the gauges work. But, if the Mustang is what you have to work with, then adapting the pods like Ranger281 has done would probably be the best option.
