Hello all. I've got a 1995 2.3 2wd 5-speed supercab. I've noticed a strange issue with my truck the last few days, whenever I'm in first gear only.
If I pull away from a stop with moderate-heavy acceleration and make a wide left turn, ie through an intersection, the shifter shifts and moves around side to side for a second, sometimes making a bumping noise. It feels like the tranny is torquing/moving over so I suspected a bad tranny mount.
I put a jack under it this morning and the tranny seemed tight and the mount seems to have enough rubber left on it. I did a visual inspection of both motor mounts as well and they dont look fatigued or crushed. U-joints are tight as well. I wish I could afford to run out and buy a GoPro camera and mount it up in there to see whats going on as I drive lol. Any ideas on the subject? Thanks..
