I have a 1994 Ranger XLT with a 2.3L engine and manual transmission. I just had the clutch replaced and rear rebuilt at 170,000 miles. About two weeks ago my second gear went out. I am pretty sure the 2nd gear synchro is shot. I can shift into second but I can not down shift into second. All other gears shift fine. I had my mechanic look the truck over. I have been giving several estimates for repair. The recommendation is to buy a rebuilt training. Does anyone know any trusted shops that sell rebuilt transmissions? I dont have the ability to rebuild it myself, or I would.
