hi i'm new here. just bought my 4th ford ranger/bronco2 on the road last week.its a 1994 ford ranger xlt 4x4,ext cab. my problem is that i need a tailgate.the previous owner had one for a 5th wheel and din't want to sell it. so i have a hard time finding a good one out of a 1993+ model. i found one for a 1983-1992 model. would it fit a 1994? :icon_confused:

Nope. 1993 and newer and yer good. Course make sure if you have a fleetside (straight bed) or stepside. The tailgates are different widths.

You got it. 93-10 models. So don't worry bout finding one. Course there are cosmetic differences but all will fit right in.

I wonder if i would be hard to make a gen 1 tailgate fit up to a 99.... i have one in the garage... not to threadjack...just a thought =D

i did try it on and the older tailgate is bigger,1/8 bigger side-side and 1/4 inch top-botom,the latch is bifferent too. i have it on the truck an it looks like crap,i need the 93-10 tailgate to make it look right

each time i go to the junkyard they get the tailgate sold quick, here in canada the tailgates rust fast,my dad had an 02 ranger stepside that had a 2inch hole in it. but hopefully my luck will be good one day lol
