hello,
I am new to this forum. I am having problems with my Right front wheel/brake. Whenever I drive in the HOT weather, my right side has a bunch of resistance, and the truck pulls right when i take my hands off the wheel. Then, when i brake, it pulls Left. I think its a wheel bearing, but there is no noise. Also, my hub and lug nuts are extremely HOT whenever this occurs. This is not my daily driver, but whenever i drive 20+ miles this occurs. The other day it even started to stink like something HOT.
Please advise! Hopefully I am posting this in the correct area.
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the caliper is hanging up and dragging. I would start by pulling that wheel, and taking a look at the pads/rotor/caliper. The caliper may need to be replaced.

I had this exact problem on my '94 a couple months ago. The piston had cracked and was seized in the right front caliper; the brake was dragging a good bit. Then when I would step on the brake the truck would pull to the left: the seized piston prevented any more braking power on the right side, causing the good brake on the left side to make the truck pull that way.

I got rebuilt calipers and new Bendix pads at Advance Auto Parts. The pads were $44; the calipers were $20 apiece. I did both calipers while I was working on it. Hope your problem is as easy! Good luck.

A good indication that there may be something wrong with the caliper is to look for uneven wear between the inside and outside pads on a particular hub. That would be an indication that the caliper is sticking.

thanks guys!! i'll check out the caliper when i yank the wheel.
probably won't be till next week.
