Good morning,
My truck has had issues lately, mainly very hard to crank and sputters/dies. Eventually after a couple tries and a little gas will stay on. I’ve also been losing power when pulling out, truck will stall out and sometimes completely shutoff.

I replaced the inline fuel filter yesterday, and afterwards the truck will not run. Engine turns over and will run for a second after priming the fuel pump, but dies immediately. I tried some starting fluid and got the same results til my battery wouldn’t turn it over anymore. Jumped it off a few more times with the same results.

I had a similar issues last year, and replaced the fuel pump but it wasn’t the cause. Can hear the fuel pump run when put to the ON position. Ended up the PCM was fried, replaced that and truck would start but still has the stalling/shutting off problem.

Thoughts?

Smarter folks than me will respond soon enough, but if you can, check the fuel pressure. If it starts with starting fluid and dies soon after, it seems like your not getting a continuous fuel supply.
