I cant figure this one out, really bad vibration only when I take off from a stop. Vibration goes away after 15 - 20 MPH........feels like rearend but I just replaced original 7.5 with an 8.8 trac lok and it has new clutch packs in it. Plus it was vibrating before the swap........I knew the spiders were bad in the 7.5 and I wanted disc in the rear and of course the 31 spline axles so I did the swap. I just cant figure out the vibration.....I looked at the tranny and motor mounts they look fine.........u-joints? transmission? carrier?........anyone else have this issue in the past..... looking for help......really want to test out the new trac lok after I fix the vibration issue.:icon_confused::icon_confused::headbang:

Could be a lot of different things. I would check in this order. u joints, new rear axle bearings, tires. I had a truck once that did this and it was a busted belt in the tires.

Thanks for the replys......I thought if it was the u-joints the vibration would come and go at =any speed when off the gas.........this only happens when you start from a stop and it goes away within 50 feet. It doesnt vibrate at any other time.........its almost like a shudder than a vibration......thats why im thinking torque converter......any other thoughts are appreciated

If It is an extended cab.... Check Your Carrier Bearing...
When I pulled mine out.........there were no ball bearings left at all!!!!!

if your driveshaft has a splined joint in it that comes apart, make sure your U-joints are "in-phase", meaning the U-joint ears on each end of the shaft line up with eachother.
