Hey Guys, Just picked up a 94 2wd that doesn't have power steering and was wondering how difficult it would be to add power steering to it. I used a stock system on my yota, all it needed was the hoses, reservoir, cooler, rack, pump and bracket. Is my ranger going to be the same?

And before people get on here calling my a wussy for wanting power steering on a 2wd, i have a bum shoulder due to a car accident that stopped my heart 3 times and the opposite arm has been broken in 6 different places, so basically, I would like to drive my truck without any sort of discomfort.

You should be able to pull it of if you buy a p/s rack with hoses and a pump, then you'll need a bracket for mounting and a new belt. It really shouldn't be hard at all. It's too bad you didn't post this sooner, I just threw most of that away from my old 2.3 (only kept the p/s pump and rack)

What about pulleys? Gonna need an idler or anything? Never seen a ranger P/S setup

Here's an image of your belt routing

Yes, you will need the idler as well - my bad!

Looks like I could get everything new from autozone. Maybe not a bracket but still. The power steering rack fits where the manual rack is with no mods correct? And the bolt holes for the bracket should already be drilled and tapped on the block?

They should be. If not, you shouldn't have any problems throwing some new ones in there. The rack should bolt right in.
