Got a 94 SC 2wd 2.3 5 speed. Started driving the truck about two months ago after putting a clutch in it and a few other necessities. About two weeks ago the oil and temp gauges started acting wierd. They will sometimes bounce around for no apparent reason while driving at a constant speed. Today the oil gauge was pegged all the way home from work and the temp gauge was near the hot mark. The volt gauge seems ok and the fuel gauge is fine. I have heard there are regulators in the clusters and am wondering if that is the problem with mine? Can it be fixed or should I look for another cluster?

CLASSIC grounding issue.

check the block grounds with particular attention to the ground strap
that runs between the wiper motor and the back of the driver's side cylinder head

Hey. I cleaned the ground on the wiper motor and the gauges seem to be working the way they should again. Thanks for the help.
