1994 front right inner ujoint

I have a ranger with the dana 35 front axle. The only u-joint I have not replaced is the right inner one. My c-clamp style press will not fit in there on the truck. I REALLY do not want to open the pumkin to remove the c-clip and pull the axle. Is the a way around that? How much do you think a shop would charge? All of the other bearings and joints in the front I just replaced. thanks for the help Jon

the only real way you are gona be able to change that ujoint is to take the pumpkin out, remove the c-clip and pull the inner passenger shaft out. if you do that then it would be a great opportunity to do the c-clip eleminator spring thats found in the tech library- trust me it makes replacing axle shafts, ujoints ect alot more easier than having to pull the pumpkin every time for that stupid c-clip

Thanks Beaterman, I figured that was going to be the only way to replace it. I have done all the others up front so I guess this will add to my mechanical skill, maybe Ill do the c-clip conversion too. Nelo

Hay, I'm not sure if you'd be comfortable tryin this but there is a thread that talks about using an oxy-acetalene tourch to cut through that front axle joint... You risk recking the shaft though. Sorry, tryin to find that thread right now so no link yet
