My check engine light is on, and fuel econmy SUCKS! Not sure what I should be getting but I am sure it is better than 12mpg ( 2.3 liter engine ) I pulled the codes and found a code " 32 " according to my manual ...I have a bad egr vacuum sensor. I have replaced it, but I am not sure were the vacuum hoses should be attached. One is on the lower part of the egr tube near the ex. manifold, the other a bit higher up on the tube. Is this correct? Also, is there a way to test/check the egr valve?

Thanks, Brian

OH ya, I forgot, this is a 1994 2 door ranger, 5spd manual w/ 2.3 lt. eng!
Thanks

On the font of your truck under the hood by the radiator should be the vacuum line routing guide and the vacuum hoses should be color coded. This should be where the spark plug gap info it (it is on mine).

On the DPFE sensor, there are two fittings/nipples.

One is labeled REF, the other is SIGNAL.

They are different sizes and so are the hoses.

Match them up properly.

Here, I took this picture and wrote some text for you. This is from my 2 door, 5 speed Ranger with 2.3L engine.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Also, you can take the EGR Valve off and there is the little nipple on the back side of the round silver part. You can suck on it and see if the diaphragm inside moves and seats properly. It should be open and then suck closed and not allow you to draw air from it. Look inside the hole on the other side and see if there is white carbon build-up inside. There are many descriptions of how to properly clean the EGR valve without destroying that diaphragm on the net.
