I was in the middle of running errands today and when I pressed the switch to roll up my driver side window it is dead, switch takes juice from the battery and I hear a faint noise when I flick the switch back and forth but window never rolls up now. My passenger side still rolls up and down ok so I don't think it's a switch problem, window fuse/circuit breaker looks ok, I think the window regulator finally gave out. How do I roll it up manually until my new regulator comes in the mail? That thing feels like it's jammed when I try to do it by hand. Given the areas I work in it's a priority so my truck doesn't get ransacked.

Usually if you can hear the motor you can grab the window by both sides of the glass and pulling up while pushing the button can help... I realize this is difficult without a third arm coming out of your chest like a lot of automotive things (or 4 extra joints in one of your arms to get into spots)... Other than that you can take the 3 screws out that hold the motor on then it's easy to move up then put the motor on again... that method is harder...

The motor is dead silent. I got the window up about 6 inches by unscrewing 3 screws keeping the regulator on the door, pushing it in while lifting one of the levers. I think I could have gotten it up all the way if dumb me hadn't stripped the threading on a screw trying to get the nut off it to stop both the screw and nut turning at same time so regulator is stuck now. I'm calling it a night and see if I can get it off with a grinder tomorrow.
