I really don't have much experience with transmissions but when in neutral or in any of the gears i hear like a swwwshhhh swwwwsshhhh grinding noise. I have no clue what it is but it is very annoying. Anyone have an idea of what it is. Thanks, Mike

throw out bearing or pilot bearing.........maybe both....when my pilot bearing went on my 3.0l it sounded like a wrench floppin around in the tranny with the clutch let out in neutral........and the throwout bearing usually sounds like a fluid annoying grinding type sound all the time through most pf the gears....thats atleast my experience....if you are gunna pull the tranny go ahead and replace them both easy enough once it is out. from the description you give sounds like throwout bearing

Ok thanks man weekend project ill let ya know how it goes.
Thanks,
Mikw
