i just recently replaced the tranny in my 94 explr with one from a 93 4x4 ranger with 3.0L... a4ld. i swapped the bellhousing and pump over so it would bolt to mt 4.0 and i didnt alighn the pump or replace the seal from the old bellhousing im using now. i was driving in mild elevation uphill and towing 1000lbs (i also have 33" tires) and it seemed to overheat the motor up a hill and the tranny pushed less than a qt of fluid out the main seal. i have read that i need to alighn pump with tool and replace the seal/check bushing... any thoughts?
