I wanted to know if a standard truck has a different main wire harness then one with power windows, locks, mirrors or is all that in the main harness and only the doors need to me modified and door wire harnesses added.

I guess the easier question is what does it take to add power windows, locks and mirrors to a truck that doesn't have those options.

I added to mine. Had to fabricat my own wire harness and used the schematic from the 97 I got the parts off. To do right you need the door panels and all. I got the doors themselves, could not get to the underdash for the gem module so cut the wires at the cab side so I would have pigtails with the right colors to match up. Made the harnes and ran it under the dash to the passenger side of the truck. I added relays for the windows and ran everything off a separate fuse block. Windows and seats are now all hot all time but is not a big deal. Same for the seats, I ran relays from the fuse block and ran direct to the seats. No issues. Forget how many wires had to run but have enough colors to keep everything straight. I used the wire diagram to label the pig tails and only one I got back ward was for the passenger side mirror! Just have to reverse what you see, ie go right to move it left! The seats I got were out of an eddie baurer B2 and bolted right in. also got the center consul out of one and painted all to match. My interior was blue, the replacement stuff was grey and the consul was tan. Autozone has plastic match paint which I used on everything and it appears to be holding up except on the driver arm rest.

One of these days I will figure out the door locks! just use aftermarket ones now and they work well enough. Other than the making the wire harness its pretty easy to do. BTW the 97 was a roll over so had to get AM mirrors (china imports) and use my original windows. Questions send a PM.

Heh heh one of the Rat's attractions was that it has manual doors. Less widgets to break :D
