The lid of my console in my 94 ranger does not have the part that catchs in the bottom to latch. This is how it came when I got it a few days ago.

Whats an easy fix besides velcro, and, does the lid of it come apart from the upholstery part easy, or are they glued together /

Thanx

The 'Clutter Catcher' from Wal Mart is a great fix.

Sorry, wish I had something more specific for you. Checking a junkyard is probably your best bet.

one of those "prong and wheel" latches for cupboards.... i dont know what they are actually called, but it worked good on mine. until i ripped it out and built my own console.

I think that thing breaking is pretty common problem.

Mine is held down with... my arm :headbang:

at least on my 98 that whole palstic thing inside the lid is held in by some screws. the part that holds stuff in the lid has 4 screws under the corners of the carpet stuff that jsut peels up from the corners, nd then theres like 3 screws under the hinge holding the rest of it on and some other screws you can see by now

best fix, explorer buckets and center console.
