well guys I finished my clip swap on my 1993 ranger . I did alot of research on this and was missing tons of info so I thought I would put down everything I did and answer any questions you have.

first is the list of needed parts despite what anyone else says here is what you need from the year you want or compatible years

core support ( you can do swap with the old core but I did not so I cant give direction on this)
outer fenders
header panel
grille
headlights
hood latch
custom body mounts

first I broke it down removing everything listed above
when removing the core I suggest using spot weld drill bit its like a tiny hole saw bit.

before installing core there is some trimming to do on the inner fenders, I cut alittle less then an inch off the front edge of the inner fenders basically they are to long. the orange line is where I cut

next are the fenders, pretty easy all you have to do is trim the front see pic and you can see where I cut them to fit

after you get the core support in where you want it its really down hill from here, take some time ,mounting it in different spots and putting it together until its where you want it then start welding

everything els bolts on except the radiator and condenser all I did was line it up drill new holes and ill have lower mounts made up at the shop next week.you could throw in a rad from the year your swapping and it would work

head lights will need some wireing isnt that hard.
as far as the bumper goes just keep posted currently its just hanging there but it requires some drilling in the old brackets.

hood latch from the year your swapping to should work I am having trouble with it but I read it works

front body mounts on the frame wont line up right if you drill new holes on the mount you can work it but im making new ones its easy enough

anything I missed feel free to ask I will answer what I can and update as I move along

Excellent write up. Short, sweet, and covers every aspect. I vote we add it to the tech library!

What ended up being the cost of the swap?

I got a pretty good deal 340 for everything,
You could go through certifit and pay like 500 for the parts

Thank you, I did my best to cover the major points unfortunatly most of the work is just figure it out as you go , I should be messing with the bumper this week and ill post more pictures tomorrow if its nice

New update . I got the hood to latch finally , all I did was raise it up about a quarter inch above factory holes and kind of space the bottom of it out so it sits like this /| on the core.

Also bumper went on but it wasn't easy I can't give any direction on that its a trail and error.

Ill post a pic of it when I get to a computer
