1993 mazdab2600I 4x4 5 speed DIRTY knock in 4x4

I have a 1993 mazda b2600I 4x4 5 speed. its my baby i love it,when in 2 wheel drive it drives smooth no complaints. shifts perfect i just put a new clutch in it. but when i put it in 4wheel drive she goes in without a problem and turns the wheels but there's a ridiculously bad noise coming from underneath. first thing i thought might have been bad U joint but no way, it would of snapped long ago plus i shook the drive shaft and there isn't play in the U joint but it seems like there's play in the drive shaft going into the transfer case. if the outlet bearing in the transfer case was gone would it generate that dirty of a noise... that's what I'm thinking it is.. any thoughts... my question mark button just stopped working on my keyboard.. thanks!

Can't say without hearing it. Since it is TTB could be a lot of different things. Have you looked at the automatic hubs, spindles, joints in the axles? Is there lube in the transfer case? What condition is it in? How about the font punkin? Any lube in it. The left side seal tends to frag with age and water gets in the diff.

no, its not. its a real mazda, not the ranger based version we all know and love. with that said, i dont have any useful info. hopefully somebody can help you out though!

honestly i dont know what year they switched from mazda to ford, but i do know that the 2.6 was a mazda engine.

94 was the first year that Mazda B-series was built off the Ranger - 93 and older are built by Mazda
