Corosion terminal::: check if the starter wire pole of a battery is in good shape

this happened to me several days ago after switching engines. key turns lights and stuff on, but won't activate starter. truck started with screwdriver technique. i ended up putting a manual push button starter in, just linking up the positive pole on the solenoid to the tab on the solenoid with a push button in the dash panel.

Did you check the nuetral safety switch?

+1 with the NSS. I call it a clutch positioning switch on a manual tranny.

YOur "starter control circuit" is not working. A component of this is the clutch positioning switch. if you have a haynes manual there is a wiring diagram toward the back it will show you exactly how it works. also check the starter relay that is easy to check.....

same thing for me!!!push button in the dash panel ---»two wire from the dash to selenoid relay

i hate seeing things like this when i get into a car lol.

anyways OP, have you tried checking any fuses? and the clutch safety switch is a valid place to check also.

does your starter solenoid have a good ground?

look here
getimage.php
(Clutch Pedal Ignition Lock Switch)

also check the small wire going to the solenoid. if that is not good and tight without corrosion then the starter won't turn on with the key switch.

Ing switch mounted on the steering column, that fixed mine. they have a tendancy to come loose at the pinch tabs, you can try to wiggle it and get the truck to crank.
