1993 F350....Converting ALOT

I may be getting a 1993 F350 4x4 from my neighbor. It was originally a 7.3 idi and auto trans truck. Now it has no engine, trans or transfer case. My dad will be taking the dana 60 front axle for his truck and I will be swapping in his dana ttb with 6 inch lift. I figured out the holes for the ttb brackets are in the cross member so I have that area covered. Now, I am building a 302 for it. I have to get the right engine mounts. It will be carbed so no electrical issues yet. I want to put a 4 speed in the truck. I got as far as bolting the bellhousing and trans on, but how am I gonna connect the transfercase? It is a 2wd 4 speed so it seems as if i can unbolt the tail shaft and bolt a transfer case up. Can I bolt on the one off the automatic that was in this truck? Now for the clutch setup, I plan on manual clutch because it is a simple setup and I do not under stand the hydraulic to much. What year manual clutch setup will bolt to this truck? Now on to the electronics. The engine will have a carb, so that's ok. But, this year truck had an electronic cluster, will I have to leave the computer in for dash controls? Or should I remove it and make my own cluster? To narrow it down, I have a 1993 F350, putting a dana 50 ttb up front, dropping a carbed 302, 4 speed trans and transfercase. And getting it all to work out good being an original diesel, automatic, electronic truck.

Good luck and TTB's suck in those trucks keep is solid up front.

vss off the rear on that for the psom iirc.....outside of the leaf ttb not being ideal should be bolt up for the most part.....speedo should work fine if the rear end stays put.

i dont foresee any electrical issues.

just use the f250 302s trans and t case combo and you should be able to fit the same drive shafts used with a f250 302 trans t case combo.....or rather small block/300 six setups.

cool upgrade to incorporate coils instead of leafs with some custom long arms imo though

Hmm, ok I'll see how this will unfold. Won't be for a few months but just making sure it is'nt a confusing issue.

Sounds like fun, cept for the TTB.
Since you are not going to put a diesel back in.
Can you swap in a D44 from a 78-79 F-250 instead of the TTB?
It would be a much better axle, handle better, ride better, look better.
I'm thinking it should work, but haven't done it so not sure.
Besides, there are crap loads of them in bone yards.
BTW If I remember right, the 78-79's are highpinion (desirable).

Or just add a D44 from a 1/2 ton w/ the 9", they are eay to install and sell the 6" kit to finance the swap.
You might even be able to buy a whole truck (if rusty) for a good price and have all of the parts you would need at once.

BTW2 The 1/2 ton 70's parttime trucks have 205 t-cases (very nice)

What is so wrong with the TTB?

Dad has a '80 F-350 (TTB D50) and it doesn't ride or handle a bit different than his '80 K-20 with a solid D44. They both ride like... a truck.

A TTB truck usually rides better on the road, however a solid is easier to tune to offroad uses

'86 and newer had a solid D60. '80-'85 were TTB D50's. Aside from a cool bumper that doubles as an air tank and a bed mounted cherry picker the truck is as stock as stock can be.
