1993 explorer 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel????

They rarely ever are. Someone will be along to fill in the details and explain why.

I know on the Rangers and B11's you have to change the engine cradle. I am not doing that. Found a nice 2 door , its still in Police impound. Thanks

Pretty much all 4WDs start with the frame
4x4 frames are usually Boxed on the front to stiffen them and also have the different mounts to attach the front axle
So there are 2WD frames and 4WD frames

4WD is not a Bolt On option added on the assembly line
4WDs are built as 4WDs from the start, frame up

Hardest part of the conversion is 4 wheel alignment, if that's not right then vehicles is undriveable
So measure, measure, then measure again :)

Thank you . I was afraid of that. I'll keep looking for a true 4 X 4

I've only ever seen one of those and it was a typical twin I beam 2wd front end exactly like the Ranger. Not an easy swap. If the one you found has a nice body, it would be easier to put that body on a 4wd frame.

Bronco 2 and early sploder should have 4x4 frame.

The ones I have worked on did...and had different I beams then rangers.

Still have to swap brackets.

Correct.
Find yourself a complete D35 TTB front axle, get the 4WD steering linkage, radius arms, and the cast 4WD pivot bracket that secures the passengerside beam to the frame crossmember.
I'm not 100% sure, but you might need the pitman arm from the steering box also... Check yours against the donor, if yours has less drop-down, then you will need the pitman arm (disregard this if you'll be putting on a suspension lift that has it's own pitman arm).

Remove 2WD TIB components (there will be some rivets you'll have to grind/drill out), bolt on the 4WD TTB components. Done.

Now for the harder part--- you will need a manual BW1354 transfer case (unless you want to try your luck installing the electrical for the not-so-reliable Touch-Drive case), a 4WD transmission, and front driveshaft (maybe all these parts can be had from the donor at the same time).

If he is lucky.....might have a dummy case.

I have a complete 93 4.0 5 speed , it has everything less the body. Runs but frame is bent. If I'm reading this right , drop the whole front axle assembly both brackets , yes one is riveted and put it under the Explorer ? Gonna use a 1350 for know. I have everything for a 1354 but the transfer case. Not going electric. waiting to see if and when the Explorer will be released. Thanks

You should have minimal issues then
