1993-2007 Ford Ranger Hood QuickLIFT

I know several toyota guys running that kit and they like it. You should have no troubles with it.

Looks legit, but over time all of those will wear out and defeat the purpose, but they look like they would be a nice addition.

Good find.

Thanks, thats great to hear from someone that has experience with these, I was debating on whether to get the kit or not, but now I definitely will, I will let you know how they work out.

I have them for my car and they have worked great for years.

I just have to say thanks for finding this. I was quite surprised when I opened the hood to find that it didn't have something as simple as gas springs to lift it. Such a small, inexpensive addition would have been nice to find when buying a new truck. Maybe Ford doesn't think us "small truck" guys deserve it. :black_eye:

I was just as surprised as you. Now the question is, which one should I get? Now all I need is an underhood light, I'm trying to find one from a fullsize GM truck because some of them have a reel-type light, which I like, but I have a hard time finding them.

Ok, I just ordered the basic Quicklift. It should be here in a few days. We'll see how they are when they get here.

That's what I got because they didn't have the elites when I purchased mine. After 4 years they still work great.

Sweet, thanks, I'll be posting pics as soon as I get them and put them on.

I got em and installed them today on my lunch break, they look and work great and where pretty easy to install. Ill get pics as soon as I get my camera back from the g/f.

i've had some redline turning lifters on my mustang for like 4 years and they have been great. they still hold the hood up great, i have noticed that the lifters are slightly weaker compaired to when i purchased them but they don't have any trouble holding the hood all the way up and it's never fallen on me. so even if mine lasted only 5 years i would definately purchase them again. and they are really easy to install, just be careful with the drill. plus i would bet that even if/when they wear you could get the size of the hydraulic lifter and purchase new ones from a parts store.

They were pretty straight forward to install, It took me bout half an hour. Its nice not having to fight with the prop rod anymore.
