1992 Explorer sport noisy front end. Ideas?

Just picked this truck up from a friend, it has bearing noise up front it sounds like. He said it has done it for years. Is there something that typically goes out to cause this? It has 178k miles, but runs just fine. The bearinf noise will drive me nuts though, just thought I'd check for ideas before I dig in.
