I bought a 92 explorer the other day, was a good deal...300.00...it drove a little bit in first gear. I was told the clutch needed to be bled, that was all...when I shifted to 2nd I lost all power and it stopped moving. It rolls like its in neutral, almost like the clutch is pressed in non stop. The pedal feels normal, etc.
There's no abnormal noises, no clunking, rattleing, etc. I havent bled the clutch since I couldn't find the bleed screw ( was dark, and i've never bled a clutch before ), so I'm looking for idea's anyone?

Sounds like either the trans is screwed (worse case here) because its missing a gear or somthing. or the clutch is completely gone, and can't grab with that much effort. Try hitting first gear fast an see if it just sits there more or less?

Thanks, I climbed under it again since my last post. I found some grey fibres there. Kinda like cat hair....you know after the rodents puked it up....lol. If its missing a gear, it should stall if i dumped the clutch in 3rd or 4th right ( showing the clutch is working )?

Sounds like your clutch is gone.

Make sure you do it all while your there.

Clutch, TOB, PB, slave, flywheel cut. Don't half-*ss it, or it'll come to haunt you later.

ok...TOB is?
PB is pilot bearing? Flywheel cut, what do you mean by this? and by slave, you mean the cylinder?

Throw out bearing, pilot bearing.
Have the flywheel machined flat, and hot spots taken out of it (same as how you get brake rotors machined/ turned/ cut)
And yes the slave cylinder
