1992 4.0??

I am purchasing a 1992 ranger 4.0 is there any problems I may come across? I heard the earlier 4.0s had some issues but im not sure what to look out for?

I have a '92 with a 4.0 liter with a 5 speed and its a powerful engine and they are known for little or no problems the 3.0 liter's or the 2.9's were junk. my truck a little over stock with 31's on it makes 256hp.
