nice ride for the price

what does every one do in order to clean all the oil/antifreeze sludge out after a blown head gasket im looking for a better way then to change the oil and filter 3 times

the new head gasket set and head bolts are on the way. after tearing into it i found that the fan had cut into the breather hose.

theres a product called motor medic. pour it in the engine let it run drain oil and refill... its an engine cleaner

Have the heads magnafluxed for cracks while you have them off. Highly doubt it has 60k with those engine issues but who knows - could/probably does have 260k, you know how the 5 digit odometer game works! But for $600 you can't really complain.

ill get some motor medic and see how it does.

shran that was my first thought as well but after some digging turns out the guys who redone this truck also rebuilt the engine alone with it so i dont know but im with you i cant complain

i did get my hands on a 5.0 out of an old house boat pics to come btw the motor was free

heres the motor guy said i can have it all 30 foot trailer and a 5.0 if its saveable oil was still good and clean havent turned it over yet had a ton of water in it all for the price of fuel it took me to move it. i say its a win win. :icon_rofl:

started the tear down yesterday pulled the valves and intake off and one head exhaust bolt is keeping me from taking the drivers side head off didnt have a cut blade for the saw saw it was a lot cleaner then i was expecting it to be a change of oil and filter a few times should do the job. got the boat moved gonna take it off the trailer and turn it into a play place for the kids and pull the motor.

school me on this i looked in the tech article and looked through some post and did digging online but whats the difference in the scout dana 44 and the ford dana 44 i can get a pretty good deal on a complete set of scout axles

after looking more closely at the photos i found out the pumpkin is on the opposite side

so i cleaned the block and put the heads on and started puting it back to geather last night was up to 1 oclock had it running everything was great my mistake was going by the book on torqueing the intake well needless to say it sprung a leak and broke so now i need to replace that again i did take it for a drive before it started leaking gonna need some shocks in the near future
