I have a 1991 Ranger 2.9 v6 5 speed manual 4x4. When i try to start the engine, the EEC fuse blows. The first time was 3 months ago, it happened while i was driving, i could not find any shorts in the wiring. I took it to my local auto repair shop, and they could not find anything wrong with it. I found if i unhooked the plug to the distributor module, and plugged it back together it ran fine, until a week ago. The fuse started blowing again. I tried the same thing again, and no prevail. I replaced the complete distributor and module and that did not fix it. I tried switching out the EEC with another one, and that didnt work either.
I did jump the fuse out with an amp gauge to see what it is pulling, it didnt pull above 5 amps and it started and ran fine. I am using the proper 30amp fuse. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I am at a loss with it.
