1991 ford ranger 4.0 high idle

Could it be the intake manifold gaskets? And how hard are they to replace?

literally any place that is leaking un metered air in can cause a high idle so yes. gotta find the leak(s).
no idea how hard to replace never done it.

Ok I just did not know if it was a sensor or not. I just think that it is weird that the truck will idle right after it is warmed up, but if up rev the engine it goes so high

When you unplug the iac the idle should drop to ~500, or even stall. Recheck for vacuum leaks.

Is this with the engine warm or cold?
