My father in law asked me for a hand with his '91 Park Avenue. His battery was going dead any time the car was left for a couple of days. We used a multimeter and measured the current draw from the battery at a constant 3.5-5 amps. Pulling fuses one at a time, we eventually found that the 30A fuse for what the Haynes manual refers to as the high speed blower relay would eliminate the drain. Unfortunately, this car doesn't actually have that relay in the fuse panel under the hood. The power wire for the blower motor feeds back under the dash, and as best I can tell from searches so far is tied into the 'A/C Power Module' somewhere under the dash.
Does anybody have experience with late 80's and early 90's Buicks and know the best way to get this module out? Also, is there a good way to test it directly? Would love to be 100% sure that it was the source of the problem before sending him off to buy a $150-200 part (or even a $30-50 part from the junkayrd).
Thanks in advance.
