I have a 1991 2.3 ford ranger it jumped time I replaced timeing belt and tensioner now it starts for a second won't idle or stay running

Yah, check the marks, The crank should make 2 turns and return to the marks . Most idiot proof way I've found is to set the engine at the timing marks before I took the belt off. I do it before taking a head off too. It was a slam dunk. I matched marked the rotor and distributor up as well. Worked like a charm. First head R+R I'd done in 35 yrs. Worked both times. I was proud of me. I'm almost like a real mechanic, except 10 X slower. :D
