Are your bent beams cast or forged? You will need to know this to ge the correct spindle/knuckle.
pretty easy, about a 1-2 hour job if all go's smooth.
jack truck,
pull of wheel
compress caliper, drive out caliper pins, remove caliper&brake pads, hang caliper out of your way.
pop off dust cap on the end of the rotor, pull cotter pin, cotter pin lock washer, take off bearing nut, pull rotor and bearing. set aside
pop your tie rod end, smack the steering knuckle arm, w/5lb sledge, an few times should pop. if not you can take the tie rod end nut and turn in up side down and screw it back on the tie rod, and give a a few smacks.Just becare you don't smash the nut down or mushroom the tie rod end etc.
For cast beams(do your beams say, "do not bend or heat or weld" cast right in to them?..IF you look as the beams from the front of the tuck, you pretty much can't miss it, if they do/are
For cast beams, you looking for a spinle/knuckle from a 89-94 truck if you have single piston brake calipers, 95-97 if you have dual piston brake calipers
..........if not you have forged beams
For cast beams
Take the ball joint nut off, losen the pinch bolt on the upper ,work you camber bushing out of you can. First rember what the bushing is set at.so you can put it back to the same marks if adjustable bushing. and smack the beam close to the ball joints till they pop/come lose off the ball joint.
Now if your new spindle/knuckle dose not have ball joints or are trashed or just feel better about your own bal joints, your going to have to press in an out ball joints.IF you got a auto zone, they rent the tool.IF you don't have some place to rent the tool,(pretty much a giant c clamp) harbor fart has them for 30 bucks or so.
forged beams If you have forged beams, you looking for a spindle/knuckle from a 85-88 ranger
for forged beams, you wont have the pinch bolt. and the ball joints are in the beams so you wont have to swap out ball joints
Good time to check you ball joints over too.
reverse steps to put new spindle on. Don't foget to tighten wheel bearing to specs and such.
You may also need to get a alignment after wards as well.
And I won't make a "glad you didn't run those wheel spacer jokes"
